Books:

  • Historic Cottages of Glen Lake, by Barbara Siepker, with photographs by Dietrich Floeter.

Although not actually “historic,” a Leelanau Peninsula resident contracted with MAC Custom Homes to build their lakeside cottage in the tradition of the original cottage (that required coming down). The owner along with MAC Custom homes incorporated meticulous authentic details of an early 1900’s cottage. The cottage was chosen to be featured in the pages of Historic Cottages of Glen Lake. The book is the 2008 Winner of the Michigan Historical Society Award and a Michigan Notable Book.

Community Service:

 

  • Bras for a Cause 2010, 2012, and 2013 

  • 2008 Ugly Kitchen Contest - MAC donated labor and materials for a kitchen remodel for a local family

  • 2004 donated labor to the House of Hope foundation (Currently known as ABBA's House)

  • 2003 & 2004 Mike Collings, the president builder of MAC Custom Homes, traveled to Haiti and orchestrated the building of a school and homes

  • 1998 the Collings family traveled to Mexico to build charitable housing
  • Also supported the Children's Museum and Pregnancy Care Center
