MAC Custom Homes is owned by the husband-and-wife-team of Mike and Robin Collings. The name is an acronym for Michael Alfred Collings (Mike‚s full name). Over the years, the company has grown steadily and has earned a solid reputation for high-quality construction and excellent customer service. As a result, MAC Custom Homes has been entrusted to build many of the finest residences in northern Michigan.

Mike Collings grew up in Farmington, Michigan, where he also met and married Robin. The couple moved to Traverse City in 1980, shortly after the birth of their first daughter. Since then, they have lived here and raised their family hereˆ which eventually grew to three daughters. Having begun his career as a framing contractor, Mike worked with local builders for several years before starting his own framing company and eventually becoming a general contractor. This led to the founding of MAC Custom Homes in the mid-nineties. With over 25 years‚ experience in the construction industry, both downstate and in northern Michigan, Mike is very much involved with every aspect of the home-building process. He runs the framing, siding and interior trim crews himself in order to control the quality and timing in each project. MAC Custom Homes is built on a solid foundation of trust and hard work, along with excellent craftsmanship. In 2006 he received the Green Build Grand Traverse certification.

Robin Collings also has roots in the construction industry, having been raised in family of bricklayers. Robin supported Mike and his work for many years from the „sidelines‰ while their three daughters were growing up. She volunteered in the school library and helped out with field trips and other activities during that time. Several years ago, she became Mike‚s partner in MAC Custom Homes and now serves as marketing manager of the company. Robin and Mike love to entertain in their home, and are devoted parents and grandparents who enjoy traveling, skiing, and boating with their family.
